So I am trying to find a winter beater on CL and every now and then I find one that is close enough to what I am looking for. I call the number posted and someone answers. I explain why I am calling and they immediately hang up. wtf is this about? I want to give you money; why wont you let me buy your car?

I'd sell you my '91 Audi 90 Quattro 20V. I have no idea why some craigslist sellers are such assholes. Just tell people the car's not for sale if that's the case!

I keep finding that its not worth attempting to have a normal, genuine conversation with the CL sellers (there are exceptions...). It seems they will only deal if you keep your sentences less than 10 words longs. And a maximum of like 3 sentences for the entire conversation.

I'm going to play devils advocate here. Having a disembodied rotating assembly floating around everywhere is kind of freaky enough, but then it's sentient, got money somehow, and is using the phone to call people?!
I think you're entitled to the same rights I have. You're one of us. It's okay. I'm just saying...it's weird. It just is. It'll take some time for people to get use to the idea of treating rotating assemblies as people too. Maybe a few V12 movie stars and Flat-6 congressmen and governors would make things better. Maybe even a Flat-12 president. But your emancipation is just going to take a while. Hang in there, friend.

It isn't much more fun being on the other side. I've been trying to sell my g/f's Saturn, and thus far the only response has been a guy offering me half my asking price, when I said I wouldn't sell a $1500 car for $750 his response was "Well I only have $750."
Well maybe you should be looking at $750 cars then?
